A Vibrant, Colorful Kitchen Takes the Show in this 650-Square Foot Paris Apartment

Must read

Paris is often praised for its elegance and charm, but it also means living in small spaces. Interior designer Lucie Socrate proved that small can be powerful in a 650 square foot apartment in a Paris suburb.

Lucie was given the task of transforming a 2-room apartment. Her vision? Her vision? To create a space as beautiful as it is functional, with a vibrant and colorful kitchen at its core. Lucie drew inspiration from Rio de Janeiro’s tropical palette to create a high-contrast colour concept that would bring warmth, light and warmth to the small apartment.

The kitchen was not always the center of attention. In its previous layout the space was the bathroom. Lucie’s solution, which was brilliant, was to break through the wall and create an eat-in space that felt spacious. She added a geometric zigzag around the entrance to frame the view and add a touch whimsy.

The kitchen is built around an IKEA cabinet with colorful fronts by Plum Living. It’s full of personality. The Margaux Keller x Plum Living collection features vibrant colors like Romarin, Tuile and Ocre, which are paired with lighter shades such as Ivoire, Beige-Rose and Beige.

Lucie chose dark wood antique tables to match the Brazilian-inspired decor in the adjacent living and dining room. The white walls reflect light while the pink blush highlights the ceiling details and looks great with the khaki bookshelves. Even the narrow wooden floors were refurbished in order to maintain the apartment’s charm.

The renovations extended to the bedroom where a clever room separator serves as both a headboard and a conceals an open wardrobe. This detail makes the space appear larger and provides ample storage. With a mini-projector, you can turn your bedroom into a home theater. This is perfect for a small apartment.

Lucie’s renovation is not only environmentally friendly, but also thoughtful. She restored the parquet floor and kept the original radiators. Vintage furniture from online platforms such as Selency and Belgian Flea Markets adds style and sustainability.

This transformation shows how a well-designed, compact kitchen can be the star of any home. This is a testament that every inch of your home can be beautiful and functional with a little creativity.
